Feeling a bit shakey

If I had answered the question of how I rate my spiritual, physical and psychological yesterday I would have a completely different answer than what I am going to give now. Right now I am sitting at the bedside of my daughter in the hospital, I haven't slept for over 18 hours. We came in the ambulance this morning at 3:00 AM. She came into my room, where I was sleeping, at 2:30 AM and said she felt like she was going to pass out. She didn't actually pass out but she became unresponsive. She would look at me with a vacant stare. It was really scary. So right now physically I am exhausted. Psychologically speaking I am struggling a bit because I wonder is there is something I could have done sooner to prevent this. Also, fourteen years ago she was in the hospital for three and 1/2 weeks for a similar episode (she has colitis) and all the memories came flooding back. Spiritually I'm doing well because Jesus is my Rock. Also, the nurses have been amazing. So, my plan to help improve in these areas is to get my daughter well and back home safely!

  1. Hi Kathleen!

Oh my gosh I am so sorry. I will be praying for sure! She will get better and do not blame yourself. You are doing all you can do and God is watching over her. I am sure that your ratings will be much higher in a couple of weeks. We all go through periods of heart ache, anxiousness, worry, etc. But the good news is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it will pass.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter, Kathleen. I will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. Don't let this instance and experience define your strength in these areas for sure, but I have a feeling you will learn a lot about your capabilities and find you are stronger in each area than you think you are as you and your daughter recover. Please keep us posted - I hope she is on the mend very soon!

  3. Hi Kathleen,

I hope your daughter is doing better. (I see you posted that on Saturday). I'm glad that she was able to let you know that she was not feeling well before she became unresponsive, rather than you finding her like that the next morning! So that is certainly something to be thankful for! On the other hand, I am glad to see that you seem to be in a good place psychologically and spiritually, given your current situation. (I say current, because this too, will pass). That shows that you are a strong person. I'm sure that you will take great care of your daughter during her stay in the hospital and when you take her home. And be safe driving home. Call somebody to pick you up if you are too tired to drive. And I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but we are supposed to get ten inches of snow tonight, so be careful wherever you are.

  4. Hi Kathleen,
I am sorry to hear that your daughter isn't feeling well. If the blood is to thick she may not be drinking enough water. Just a thought, but the average women should be drinking seventy five ounces a day. Usually the blood is thick and not flowing well in order to create a clot or there has been some head trauma. I know it is a difficult time and it is hard to watch your children suffer, but i will ask God for a fast recovery and the ability to heal the area back to whole I hope that is ok.
    Good luck and speedy recovery,
    Mary Derry
