Someone told me today about a project from President Obama that is underway. He is building a mosque right next to ground zero. And guess what? He wants to have the grand opening on September 11, 2010. I actually didn't believe that what I was hearing was truth. I mean, come on, that seems to be quite insensitive to all the families that lost loved ones on 9/11. Well, of course I had to Google the information and yes it is true. This really makes me mad and sad. I realize that not all Muslims are terrorists but I still believe that this is not in the best interest of our country. I suppose this could be a very hot topic but I'm willing to step out on a limb and post my thoughts.

HI Kathleen:
ReplyDeleteHey step out on that limb. Everyone has the right to their opinion. I can see where this may be upsetting to many people. I had not heard the news yet, so thanks for the heads up.

Hi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tracie, everyone has a right to their own opinion. I heard something about this project a few weeks ago. I do not understand the need for it there. Ground Zero is the only place loved ones who lost family members can go to mourn and remember their loved ones. Why not just leave it as a monument of remeberance? I do not understand the need for the mosque there either. I will keep checking the story for more information though. Great topic for conversation though. It was a sad day for everyone and I will certainly never forget.

Hi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about this project either. I think it's wrong to put a mosque there. He is just asking for trouble. Too many people feel that they were behind the attack and I'm not sure I blame them.
My dad's birthday was 9/11 and it is a horrible way to remember him.
I hope Obama changes his mind.
