Here's the hummus recipe I made earlier this week.
Hummus
1 16 oz can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans
1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid from can. Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Add 1/4 cup of liquid from chickpeas. Blend for 3-5 minutes on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth.
That’s it! It is so easy and yummy.

Thank you Kathleen. I will have to try this, but what is tahini? For some reason this hummus sounds really familar to me. Maybe you could come visit and make it for me. :P
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene,
ReplyDeleteTahini is sesame seed butter. It is somewhat expensive but you don't need a lot per use. I think you would have the hummus made way before I was able to get to your door. It actually takes no more than 10 minutes to prepare start to finish. To me it is better if you make it and let it sit for several hours to allow the flavors to meld. Let me know if you make some and how you like it!
Kathleen - thanks for posting this! I love hummus and have only made it once before.
